The Salvation Army Classics Series features pieces that have been rescored for "Unity Series" (five-part) scoring. Part I 1st cornet Bb Part II 2nd cornet Bb and 1st horn Eb Part III 2nd horn Eb, Baritone and Trombone Bb Part IV Euphonium Bb Part V Bass Eb and Bass Bb All four arrangements featured in this journal have been completed by Retired Songster Leader Michael Babb.

No 5 March - Mighty To Save (General Series no 859) by George Marshall Originally published in 1921, this sparkling march from one of The Salvation Army´s most influental composers features the chorus of the song "Jesus is mighty to save! From the uttermost, to the uttermost. Mighty to save!"

No 6 Meditation - Hyfrodol (General Series no 1278)by Gunnar Blomberg An interesting setting by the Swedish Salvationist Gunnar Blomberg, of the well-known Welsh hymn-tune "Hyfrydol", which is associated with the song "What a friend we have in Jesus". This was published in 1947.

No 7 Hymn tune setting - Colen (General Series no 1733,2) by Thomas Rive Published in 1980, this was the first composition of Dr Thomas Rive to apear in the Band Journals following his promotion to glory in 1978. As well as being a committed Christian he was a musician of scholarship and it is a mark of his integrity that he has taken as much care with this arrangement as he did with his Festival Series pieces. For him, the writing of this would have been an "act of worship" and so it should be when it is played.

No 8 Hymn tune arrangement - My All is on The Altar (General Series no 1400,2) by Morley Calvert A very beautiful arrangement, from Canadian Salvationist composer Morley Calvert, of this much loved song, published in 1954. The simple, profound words of the chorus are as follows: My all is on The Altar. I´m waiting for the Fire. Waiting, waiting, waiting. I´m waiting for the Fire.
