Sheet Music for Brass Band

In 1922 some missionaries from the Zulu area in South Africa on furlough in Norway sung a new song. Colonel David Welander was inspired to write the text "Never fades the name of Jesus" to the African tune, and it quickly became popular. In the following years the song was translated into several other languages, and the song found its way into many churches around the world. It si one of the most widespread Christian songs from the twentieth century in the Scandinavian countries. The composer of the tune is not known, but it is believed to be a South African folk tune.

How I love tha name of Jesus!
He has set my heart aflame!
I have found a great salvation
Throught the merits of his name.
