Sheet Music for Brass Band
No 2112 Lift Up Your Voice by Stephen Bulla
This up-tempo setting is a re-imagining of the familiar hymn tune "St Francis". In thes new arrangement, specially commissioned by the Melbourne Staff Band, the music takes on a new excitement with modern rhythms that again reveal the ageless quality of the melody and text.
No 2113 The Lion of Judah by Kenneth Downie
This is a set of four variations based on the hymn tune attributed to Henry Tucker - "The Lion of Judah"
No 2114 Flow Gently, Sweet Afton by Paul Sharman
The famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns, wrote the poem "Afton Water" in 1791. Jonathan Spilman wrote the melody "Flow Gently sweet Afton" to complement the lyrics in 1837 and this has come to be regarded as a traditional Scottish song. In The Salvation Army this melody has become associated with the words "My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine"
